Gibberish Puzzle (2002) is 2-channel acousmatic work created at the Hiller Computer Music Studios on the campus of SUNY at Buffalo. It was originally conceived to accompany a visual poem I created that was published in NAME poetry magazine. The source material is comprised of 25 gibberish words, read by poet Jessica Smith, that are arranged using the layout of a typical cross-word puzzle. The intersection of the words influenced the organization of the piece. Most sounds were transformed in the spectral domain using filtering and cross-synthesis techniques.
